Duong Lam Ancient Village is an ancient village located on the outskirts of Hanoi. Possessing the typical features of an ancient village such as banyan trees, wells, and communal house yards, Duong Lam appears as an ancient town full of nostalgia and peace in the middle of a bustling city. This is the first village to be awarded a National Historical and Cultural Relic by the State. Coming to Duong Lam Ancient Village, visitors will be able to see with their own eyes the typical features of a traditional village such as banyan trees, wells, communal house yards, village roads, small alleys, ancient wooden houses or red brick walls, mud plaster, etc. Duong Lam Ancient Village is peaceful and nostalgic in modern times. This place is considered a "forgotten ancient town" but the village is extremely famous and is a destination for many domestic and foreign tourists.

Located in the middle of Son Tay town, more than 40 km from the center of Hanoi, Son Tay Citadel is an extremely unique ancient military architectural work, built in the first half of the 19th century under the reign of King Minh Mang. After more than 200 years of ups and downs in history, this place still preserves many ancient vestiges and still retains its majestic and quiet features, demonstrating the prestige of a heroic historical period of the Vietnamese people.

Detailed Itinerary:

07h45 - 08h00: Car and tour guide will pick you up at hotels in the Hanoi Old Quarter and Opera House area to depart for sightseeing:

Khai Nguyen Pagoda in Son Tay, also known as Tan Vien Pagoda, full name is Tan Vien Son Quoc Tu. The pagoda dates back to the Ly Dynasty in the first half of the 11th century. The pagoda was newly restored in 2008, so it has a very unique ancient and modern mark, without destroying the space and historical value.

Khai Nguyen Pagoda

Son Tay ancient town. The citadel was built in the 3rd year of Minh Mang (1822) and is the only ancient citadel built of laterite in Vietnam with unique architecture such as: laterite walls, 4 gates built of ancient bricks. This is one of the few citadels under the Minh Mang dynasty that remains today, the citadel was solidly built to protect the land northwest of Thang Long.

Son Tay Ancient Town

11h30: Lunch at the restaurant, rest. Afternoon continue to visit:

Duong Lam ancient village, An ancient village typical of the Northern Delta. You will pass through the ancient village gate, visit Mong Phu communal house, Ba Chua Mia palace, and Giang Van Minh temple. You will walk along the village, visit the ancient house and enjoy specialties: sticky rice wine and Lam tea.
